It's also a great way for you to live up to your name.

Although not related directly to the spiritual discipline aspect, I wonder what kind of a church growth plan a parish might develop if its members committed themselves to walking through their neighbourhoods on a regular basis.

Donald - I think you are getting at what I think I am getting at, or at least hoping to get at and put into practice.

I've taken to walking through our community (Comox or Courtenay) two to three miles (2.5 to 4 km) per day for the last three years. It's my cardio program, but find it a wonderful time to be in touch with God, to listen to some good music (Robin Mark, and others) and to meet people in the community. I usually pass by a coffee shop or two where I undoubtedly meet and greet parishioners.
