I first heard Terry Kelly at the Split Crow Pub many years ago. At least, I think it was the Split Crow; after all, it was many years ago, and it was a pub. Terry Kelly was in a drug store on Remembrance Day when the store announced they would observe two minutes of silence at 11 am. A father, who was shopping with his young daughter, became upset that the staff was observing the two minutes. The event inspired this song. The Veterans in the video are members of Nova Scotia branches of the Royal Canadian Legion.
That video brings tears to my eyes every time I see it.

Kate: it's a great song. I heard him a few times when I lived on the East Coast; he has a really warm stage presence.
