Back in early June the smaller members of the felix clan got the idea that dad should build a playhouse for them in the backyard. Two words -- summer project". So without further ado we had to figure out where exactly it should go. Son #1 thought it should be close to the kitchen, with the option of installing a tunnel through which snacks could be passed directly from the kitchen to the playhouse. I liked the idea, but mrs felix said no. The project is almost completed. This afternoon we put the second layer of drywall compound on the interior. There are still a few bits and pieces to finish up. Tip: you can actually save a bundle on good quality materials by buying ends and left over sizes. The guys at Cedar Village gave me a great deal on some very swank cedar siding. It is all leftovers and shorter pieces from other jobs. Here are a few shots of the work in progress:
