I have two choices: mow the lawn or read a book. So I've picked up the copy of An Emergent Manifesto of Hope (Pagitt & Jones, et al.: Baker 2007) which has been laying around collecting dust for the last few weeks. It is a collection of essays by names familiar to those who have been following/practicing the "movement" (for lack of a better word) which has come to have the tag emerging church over the last little while.
Speaking of communities of immense sanity, it's almost time to play some music with the local L'arche gathering. I think that next time we have an Anglican General Synod, we should elect one of the core members of L'arche to run the program for us.
Joe, did you get by to see St Benedict's table? I see Jamie was at Synod - did you have a chance to speak emergently?
