Archdeacon Derek Hoskin, of Red Deer, was elected Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Calgary on the second ballot by 279 delegates at the 69th Synod, a special electoral synod. The all day conference began with Eucharist celebrated by the Metropolitan at St. James Anglican Church, Calgary.
Joe,
Calgary's not too far from your neck of the woods. Do you know anything about Bishop-elect Hoskins's theological views that you wouldn't mind sharing? Any way of assessing his positions on the issues that currently vex the Anglican Church of Canada? (Not trying to put you on the spot, of course.)

Scott - I don't really know that much about Hoskins, other than that he is a fellow Wycliffe alumnus. I'm sure there will be some local chatter, and I'll keep you posted.
