I was chatting with someone last night about Michener Park; about the possibility of doing some kind of ministry there over the summer. Michener is a "family residence" complex here at the U of A which houses a great number of international students, often with their spouses and young children.
I'm not the sort of person who sees many unusual promptings from God. However, part way through morning prayer (after the first reading - Isaiah 25:1-9), I started thinking about the phrases from verse 7 - how God will "destroy that shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations." I started thinking about all the international students we have here.
I found myself getting up and wandering to the north entrance to our building, which faces the International Center here at the U of A. Along comes a fellow I know from South Africa, who proceeds to ask me about possibly doing some sort of ministry at Michener Park.
I'm just sayin' that's all.
I'm not a very smart man, but I think I might try to connect the dots on this one.
Sounds like a winner to me! I'd guess some signs were being revealed to you this morning.
Praying that God will continue to reveal this to you,
Shawn

I don't often enter "comments" here, but I could not let the words, "I'm not a very smart man" be left without debate. Joseph ... I have always stood in awe of your "smarts!"
Happy Easter!
