The media situation in Nigeria is such that putting stringers and reporters at risk isn't worth it.

Changing Attitudes in Nigeria is very familar with Popoola and Orama.

An Archbishop's office releasing a denial is not'bad' traditional media reporting. Or a retraction.

That took courage to post Joseph, thank you.

I'm glad to see that this was clarified.

On a related note, I feel for those members of the Zacchaeus Fellowship who believe they find little comfort in the "either/or" of the WEst / GS. They remind me of something Mrs Felix & I were reading the other night: "The foxes have holes, the birds of the air have nests; the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head".
Jim commented on '"not fit to live": Bishop Isaac Orama & the Dromantine Statement'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d834515ec969e200e54ed97b6f88332007-09-07T21:46:56Z2008-08-28T19:03:24ZJimAnother case of bad reporting? In an email communication The Venerable Akintunde A. Popoola, Director of Communications for the Church of Nigeria has stated that Bishop Orama has denied making the statements attributed to him in a September 2, 2007, UPI report. Additionally, the journalist who issued the statement has given a verbal apology for the misrepresentation and has promised to print a retraction.
It is true in one sense that none of us are "fit to live" so to speak - we all have offended against God (and some of us continue on a daily basis).
steve the z commented on '"not fit to live": Bishop Isaac Orama & the Dromantine Statement'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d834515ec969e200e54eed53ee88342007-09-06T20:30:29Z2008-08-29T06:15:11Zsteve the zfor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23.
Nope, just because someone lives a homosexual life does not make them an inferior being, they are human. and scripture applies to all humans in the same manner. So If this dude has been quoted correctly, then He has some big problems to deal with. I would go so far as to ask what sins has he not confessed.
Tim commented on '"not fit to live": Bishop Isaac Orama & the Dromantine Statement'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d834515ec969e200e54eed53a288342007-09-06T20:28:05Z2008-08-28T19:07:28ZTimhttp://timchesterton.blogspot.comThanks, Joe; I've passed both these articles on, on my blog.
Thanks, Joe; I've passed both these articles on, on my blog.
anthony commented on '"not fit to live": Bishop Isaac Orama & the Dromantine Statement'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d834515ec969e200e54ed8b0b088332007-09-06T17:42:43Z2008-08-28T05:26:57Zanthonynot fit to live also reminds queer people of how their ancestors died under the hands of idi amin, mao,...
not fit to live also reminds queer people of how their ancestors died under the hands of idi amin, mao, stalin and hitler, because their sexuality could not fit into the national characther...
