Soma,

Would that be RAM the computer term? RAM the animal? RAM the object - as in a battering RAM? Or some other use of the word?

Danielle Sexton

Hi,

I was just wondering if you could help. It is coming up to my wedding anniversary and I was wanting to get a tattoo vertically with the phrase: "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine". Could you please point me in the right direction for this I just need a printed version as the tattooist can go from that. I have looked on the internet and no where seems to have it vertically and I am not too sure whether it means that they say.

Thanks for the help and I look forward to hearing from you

Dragonfly

I, too, am looking for "I am my beloved's, my beloved is mine." I would like it on my arm, but the script I found would take up half my back. Do you have a simpler version, like the one I see on a certain ring? I would be so greatful and appreciative. Thank you.

Dragonfly

Serena

Wow! You are quite in demand here! I too would like the "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" written horizontally. In script and in letters if possible. I am not sure which I would like. Also, my husband wants to do the same. Would he have to have to have it written differently since he is male?

Kate

No orthodox Jew would ever get a tattoo - it would render them permanently ceremonially unclean.

Nicki

Hello!

Hi, I am thinking about getting a tattoo across my shoulder that in Hebrew reads "Christ's daughter" or "Christ's servant". I am having trouble finding any info about the proper spelling of these. Perhaps you could help?

Leslie

As a public school teacher, admittedly only a substitute, I would like to liberate everyone on this comment thread by introducing them to the current fashion trends in pedagogy, namely, Invented Spelling.

Liberte! Egalite! Fraternite!

Invented spelling was designed to boost your self-esteem by applauding whatever spelling you may come up with for any given word or words. So, why bog down in authenticity when you can make your own tattoo uniquely yours?

After all, if your spelling isn't you, who will be you?

just a thot

Hi!
I am looking for "i am my beloveds and my beloved is mine" in hebrew, i want it written vertically, however i have been reading up and have seen that common mistakes are for the text to actually be written backwards. i want the writing to read properly goin from top to bottom, however many people end up with it bottom to top. and also, alot of people appear to get the gender wrong. i am looking for the feminine version for myself, and also the masculine version for my other half. if u could help me then i would be most grateful!!

thank you

My boyfriend and I are getting matching tattoos of " I am my beloved's my beloved is mine." We would like it correctly in the hebrew that it was originally written in by King Solomon in the Song of Solomon. It is to be written vertically on each of us and i was wondering about the masculine/feminine translations i have read about???

Reut

hi guys,
a lot of you want translations for your tattoo...
I'm Israeli, Hebrew is my first language, and I can help you with any translation you want and also help you design the tattoo (different fonts, styles, etc.)
just check out the website I built for it:
www.hebrew-tattoo.com

:)

Leslie

YAY!

joseph

Reut - thanks. The entire mission of this blog has been to provide awareness of proper technique for getting a Hebrew tattoo. The Christian/Anglican commentary thing was simply a schtick. However, one must also warn folks that the modern Hebrew spoken in Israel does have some differences from classical Hebrew. That being said, everyone head over to Reut's place for a look.

Hannah

Any ideas on inspiring Hebrew phrases from religious texts? [i don't regret much, but not paying attention in Hebrew school twice a week for 8 yers is DEFINATELY one of the big ones...]

I was thinking of getting the classic hillel quote 'If I am not for myself...If not now, when?" or my Hebrew name.

Anyone come up with any other ideas?

Thanks alot guys! If i can help anyone with anything [don't know what that'd be], just shout, I guess...
